Ethiopia Showcases Goal Tracker for SDG Data at High-Level Forum

New York, USA July 22, 2025 Ethiopia presented its cutting edge "Goal Tracker" platform at the VNR Labs during the High Level Political Forum, highlighting a significant advancement toward an integrated SDG data ecosystem. Mr. Habtamu Takele, Senior Policy Advisor and SDG focal point at the FDRE Ministry of Planning and Development, presented the platform as a visual, interactive tool capable of tracking SDG progress using real time data. He emphasized its role in strengthening the Voluntary National Review (VNR) process by incorporating innovative and diverse data sources. The presentation reaffirmed Ethiopia’s strong commitment to evidence based SDG monitoring, driven by transformative initiatives such as the Development Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation System (DPMES) and a comprehensive Statistical Capacity Building Programme. These efforts underscore the country’s dedication to transparency, data innovation, and results oriented sustainable development reporting.
